Liberty Ridge Road
Stitzer, Grant County, Wisconsin

The dust settles down as the sound fades away,
to the gravely stretch on the rise.
As it winds through the hills like a delicate thread,
in the fabric of all of our lives ... of my life.

Like the limestone walls in the quarry we played
where the fossils chart the passing of time,
the land recalls the families it's raised
while to the world outside it's only a road sign.

Oh, the times we had on Liberty Ridge Road
Roaming over the acres of the valleys below
and the rustic reminders of so long ago
in the magic and splendor of Liberty Ridge Road.

Summertime days on Grandfathers farm
where the crops can stretch as far as my eyes.
Bailing up hay or playing in the barn
while the fence line stretches mile after mile.

Take the back way home by the shade of the trees,
like a blanket how thickly they line.
Past the church at the end of Liberty Ridge Road
where my ancestors rest for all time...

Oh, the times we had on Liberty Ridge Road
Roaming over the acres of the valleys below
and the rustic reminders of so long ago
in the magic and splendor of Liberty Ridge Road.

And now the explanation:
It was pure chance that I stumbled over the song of Bryce Parks and Wayne Tigges while roaming through the web. It was a big surprise when I found out that they really sing about the Liberty Ridge Road which I know. So I downloaded the song and the lyrics and looked for the album with the photos that I've made when I had been at Liberty Rigde Road. This side is the result of it. You'll have to download the song yourselves if you want to hear the song ... I think, it's worth the time!
