Aufstellung aller Auswanderer

Und, glaubt das jemand? Dass man auch Auswanderer ausfindig machen kann, die einen so "seltenen" Namen wie Möller bzw. Miller haben? Ja, man kann!!!

Der Erbkötter Adam Heinrich Möller beantragte 1846 die Auswanderung. Diese wurde ihm gestattet, denn er war verarmt und die Gemeinde befürchtete, sonst bald für den Unterhalt seiner Familie aufkommen zu müssen. Am 12.10.1746 kam Adam Heinrich Möller mit seiner Ehefrau Catharina geb. Probst (Link zum Stammbaum) und den Söhnen Adam, 3 Jahre, und Eberhard, 1 Jahr, an Bord der Hottinguer in New York an. Sie ließen sich in Lancaster, Grant County, Wisconsin nieder. Dort siedelten sich später auch andere Auswanderer aus der Region an, u.a. Catharinas Bruder Gerhard Heinrich Probst, Adam Wefel aus Krevinghausen, die Niemanns aus Grambergen und auch Christoph Heinrich Waldmann.

 

Nachruf auf den Sohn, Adam Miller jun.

Adam Henry Miller of Durham was born in Hanover, Germay, July 29, 1843 (korrekt wäre der 27.07.) and was called to meet his God from the hospital at McPherson, April 22, 1924 at the age of 80 years, 8 month and 22 days.
Whenn three years old he was brought by his parents to the United States, locating in Wisconsin, wehre he grew to manhood.
At the age of nineteen years he enlisted in the Civil War and served his country loyally until discharged.
In January 1868 he was united in marriage to Catharine Roth. To this happy union seven children were born, five boys and two girls.
Mr. Miller was confirmed and raised in the Lutheran chruch but on moving to Durham, there being no English Lutheran there, he united with and helpd to build the M. E. church, to which church he was a faithful member at the time of his death.
Mr. Miller, or Grandpa Miller as he was better known in the Sabbath school and church, had been in poor health for a number of years and since the death of his beloved wife, has been patiently waiting his Master's call "come home" where they are now reunited in the glorious "Homeland".
He leaves to mourn his loss four sons, Jacob Miller of Waukegan, Ill., Edward Miller of Wayne, Nebr., Fred Miller of Oakley, Idaho, and Harry Miller of Belvedere, Kansas; two daughters, Mrs. C. Weible of Durham, Kans., and Mrs. A. M. Hyatt of Onana, Iowa. Also Twenty one grandchildren, ten great grand children, two sisters and a host of other relatives and friends.
The people of the entire Durham community join in heartfeld sympathy with the sorrowing relatives in their bereavement.
Funeral service were held from the Methodist church at Durham. Rev. M. W. PArker of Tampa conducting the services and interment was made in the Durham cemetery.
